There's no need to worry about your antibody or streptavidin peroxidase conjugates becoming inactive over time when you use new Guardian Peroxidase Stabilizer/Diluent (S/D), which preserves peroxidase activity from 1:100 to 1:100,000 dilution (Figures 1 and 3). Guardian S/D Formulation can be used to create stock solutions (1:1,000) or ready-to-use assay reagents (1:100,000) that can be stored at 4°C for 12 months or at room temperature for six months. No more wasting money with HRP dilutions you throw away the same day.

This Guardian Formulation is ideal as an assay diluent in ELISA and solution-based assays. If you are using a membrane-based assay, Pierce recommends diluting the Guardian-stabilized HRP conjugate further in assay buffer. Figure 2 demonstrates the activity of a streptavidin-HRP conjugate stored in Guardian Stabilizer/Diluent at a concentration of 10µg/mL. This HRP conjugate is further diluted (1:300) to perform the Northern blot assay. The Streptavidin-HRP is still able to detect a biotinylated RNA probe even after 12 months of storage at 4°C at a highly dilute concentration.
