The transfer of acetyl groups to lysine residues of histone proteins by acetyltransferase enzymes is critical to epigenetic control of genes in cell maintenance and survival. Histone acetyltransferases (HATs) are involved in disease processes as well and have garnered attention as targets for therapy across a number of pathological areas including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammatory diseases.

We offer a select number of acetyltransferase screening and profiling services to enable your drug discovery program. Our team of expert, using our in-house developed biochemical assay kits, will:

Chemiluminescence Assay Format

Our services rely upon our available chemiluminescent screening assays based on HAT-mediated transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-CoA to a histone substrate that is coated onto a 96-well plate. The acetylated histone is recognized by a highly specific primary antibody, followed by an HRP-labeled secondary antibody. The chemiluminescence produced by HRP after addition of a substrate can be measured using a chemiluminescence reader. In the presence of an acetyltransferase inhibitor, the overall chemiluminescent signal will decrease due the reduction in histone acetylation.
