BHQ-2的吸光度為579 nm，有效吸光度范圍為550-650 nm。它是與在可見光范圍（557-617 nm）的黃橙色部分發(fā)射的熒光染料配對的猝滅劑。這組染料的發(fā)射光譜與BHQ-2的吸收光譜充分重疊，使后者能夠高效地熄滅前者的熒光。
The absorbance of BHQ-2 is 579 nm, and the effective absorbance range is 550-650 nm. It is a quenching agent paired with the fluorescent dye emitted from the yellow orange part in the visible light range (557-617 nm). The emission spectrum of this group of dyes fully overlaps with the absorption spectrum of BHQ-2, so that the latter can efficiently extinguish the fluorescence of the former.
