VOLKSWAGEN Transmission (Shanghai)Co.,Ltd. was established on Oct.29,2001. As the first powertrain producing joint venture of VW Konzern in China,the corporation was invested by Volkswagen (China) Investment Co.,Ltd.,SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd.and FAW Car Company Ltd.by Shares.On April 15,2002 the company machines and equipments were installed and adjusted,and at the end of that year the products were begun to manaufacture.On Jan.28,2003 the MQ200 manual gearboxes were supplied to customers.In December 2005,gearboxes were exported to Europe.Nowadays the customers in China are Shanghai Volkswagen,FAW-VW,FAW Car,and the products are made for cars such as Polo,Fabia,Lavida,Touran,Bora,new Bora,Octavia,Sagitar and Golf etc.On April 10,2008 was the 500,000th gearbox was produced.The company is planning new capacity and investment at the moment,from 2010 the capacity of company will be more than 400,000 gearboxes.VOLKSWAGEN Transmission (Shanghai)Co.,Ltd.
